RELEASE NOTES

CountPort 1.0.1

Help from the desktop, fewer repeated camera sign-ins, and support for Ubuntu 26.04 LTS.

The CountPort desktop app

This release includes the CountPort desktop app for the first time. Choose Get Help in its window header or tray menu to open Help in your default browser. Once the PC is activated, the link opens Help for that PC. Before activation, it opens general Help. Sign in to CountPort Cloud if prompted.

Camera sign-in retry limits

A rejected camera stream sign-in pauses automatic retries for 30 minutes. Camera discovery pauses after two rejected sign-ins. Each limit applies across channels using the same recorder address to reduce repeated attempts with incorrect credentials.

Saving corrected camera credentials allows a fresh stream attempt. Re-saving credentials already rejected during the pause does not. Camera discovery may still need to wait for its pause to end.

Security updates

This release updates bundled networking and media libraries and improves handling of camera addresses in audit history to avoid retaining credentials included in an address.

Ubuntu compatibility

CountPort 1.0.1 supports Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and 26.04 LTS on 64-bit Intel and AMD PCs. Use the personal installer provided in your CountPort Cloud account.
